Well Greg....some notes here...

my father was in the textile business for most of his life....it actually began it's collapse in the 70's...way before Clinton and the free trade deal..
btw: that was a George Bush's personal favorite and he was actually involved in helping to outline and draft it's basic success...he would have signed the deal but Clinton won his job...
Clinton followed his lead and signed the bill..
it still gets verbal support from President George Bush numero one.

the decline in jobs here is each businesses choice...companies had plants and parts makers elsewhere long before that..

last week it was announced boeing was coming to south carolina...
they are leaving washington with this new production line...my guess is cheaper labor.
why not go overseas, since the free trade deal makes it so easy?

i didn't see anyone complaining here about this new airplane line deal ariving here.
they all happy the jobs out there will be a memory, and are coming here.

i have a tv channel i watch via satellite from Seattle Washington..
all the folks there aren't blaming asia nor child labor nor the free trade deal..
they blaming US....rednecks willing to work for peanuts and that's what's gonna cause their eventual collapse.

so ya see, it can be blamed a lotta ways and on a lotta different people.
just depends on who's doing the blaming....lol

so my point is simple....Bill Clinton did not send jobs overseas....the companies themselves did that.

you claim like most that obama has broken the record for spending...
do you honestly believe he or ANYONE has any other choice?

every govt program claims to have money woes...aka: they need more.
this started wayyyyyyyyy before obama became president.
tack on another federal department added under george bush with estimates saying near 300,000 jobs....
they have to be paid now ya know...since the govt don't actually draw a weekly check, YOU get to pay for this as well.

look up the inside scoop on the homeland security dept when ya have some free time.

what we are seeing now is Obama trying to deflect and help what he was handed...

republicans don't seem to care if we help the rest of the world..
in fact they include "BY GOD" when they do that..

then in the next paragraph they claim no jobs and going under if they don't get some govt money...

I guess it's just upsetting to see,what it seems like we worked for start to dwindle away...and not seeing the response,that we feel subsides th rest of the Country..
Yes boeing moving to the south was so the labor would be cheaper,and not unionized...I suppose the "wal-mart greeters here will work cheaper,than the northerners will"...
That comment was totally uncalled for ,and that goes back to the lack of respect This country has for one another..

The Boeing deal is all about non-union labor.

I have a friend who works for Boeing in the L. A. area making well over 100G a year. His job is soon to be fazed out & he is investigating moving here. So far it looks like early retirement will pay him alot better than the non-union scale here. Too bad a smart, hard working guy can't afford to work any more.



I'm self employed, too, like some of y'all. I wasn't gettin' rich before but now I can't pay myself minimum wage most weeks. For me, the decline began about 3 years ago & has been at the same level for about a year now.


Remember when folks would poormouth & say "I'm on a fixed income."? That has started to look pretty good!

Bud, I totally agree with you on the "Bush's" and other Rep's...But dont understand what appears to be your defense of Obama...He's doing the same stuff, just more of it....I understand that the Rush Limbaugh followers are not displaying common sense either...I say Rush is the Micheal Moore of the "right" side.. We need to quit playing for a "team" and start playing for the survival of freedom in this country. But, our semi-socialist system has already been set into motion and Im afraid that its to late to stop the runaway train.

I wasn't getting rich,either..but I was comfortable,and didn't have to worry about were the next bag of groceries was coming from....I fall in business started in late 2007 "october" to be exact,I don't know what was scaring people away from spending,but something drastic happened...In july of 06,my mat bill was $28000,and fuel bill was $500-700 a/month..july of 07,mat bill was $2800,and fuel bill was $1000-1400 a/month..It has been awhile since I have had a pay check of $1000 dollars/or more a/week...Being self employed that is not as much money as its sounds...By the time overhead comes out,your really better off working by the hour somewhere..
I have had a lot of people that voted for Oboma say they wished they had not....Biggest complaint from them is;It's been 11 months and the troops aren't home yet,he said he would have them home in 6 months...Now with all the money being passed around,and the blue collar workers aren't seeing anything but tax increases..and job lose,un employment contuning to rise..And He promised if we voted he would CHANGE all of this...
I guess they will say amything to get in office,"but I thought he was different" ....
I personally don't care who is in there,b/c one is just as crooked as the next...They all are Liars,Each of them all have lied about something they said they would have done Or change in our gov't...I guess when they get in they all have short term memory lose,or forget what the Writers have written for them to use in there campaigns,just a thought, dont know..
